The short answer is yes…
This is a great question to ask an attorney when you are considering bankruptcy. Many of my clients rent and worry whether they will have somewhere to live after the bankruptcy is over. Some landlords prefer not to rent to someone who has filed for bankruptcy.
The good news is that many landlords don’t mind at all. Some places even advertise that they accept tenants with bankruptcies on their records. Just be sure to be honest on any applications the landlord might give you. If you filed for bankruptcy, check the appropriate box.
